Breaking down the Hyatt Loyalty Program

The Hyatt Loyalty program has the best perks out of all the hotel chains in my opinion.

The Hyatt Loyalty Program has four membership levels: Member, Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist. You can join for free here.  See program terms for complete details.

Member Status

This status is the lowest status and comes when you join the loyalty program. Even the lowest Hyatt status has some perks.

Members Price

This status comes with the following benefits

  • Member Exclusive savings when you book on hyatt.com

  • Exclusive member-only offers

  • Earn points on stays, spa services and FIND services

  • Use points with no black out dates

  • Enjoy a Hyatt free night award after staying at 5 different Hyatt brands

  • Resort fees are waived at participating locations when you use Free Night Awards

Discoverist Status

If you hold The World Of Hyatt Credit Card, you will automatically get Discoverist status.  You also get this status after staying at a Hyatt hotel 10 times during the calendar year or having spent 25K basepoints at Hyatt locations. Discoverist gives you all the benefits of Member status plus the following benefits:

  • Bonus point earnings on spend at a Hyatt hotel

  • Premium Internet

  • A complimentary bottle of water daily

  • Room upgrade on check-in, if available

  • Elite check-in

  • Late checkout to 2:00 pm, as available

Explorist Status

You can get this status after staying at a Hyatt hotel 30 times during the calendar year or having spent 50K basepoints at Hyatt locations.

With Explorist status, you get all the benefits of the previous status levels plus guaranteed availability at participating Hyatt hotels up to 72 hours in advance.

Globalist Status

The highest status is Globalist. You can obtain globalist status by staying 60 nights at a Hyatt property within a calendar year or obtaining 100,000 base points.

The additional perks of Globalist status include:

  • Room upgrades including Standard Suites and rooms with Club lounge access, if available.

  • Bonus point earnings of 30% of spending at Hyatt locations.

  • Late checkout of 4:00 pm, if available.

  • Club access or full breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children

  • Complimentary parking (both valet or self-park) on award stays

  • Early check-in to rooms, as available

  • Welcome amenity at Hyatt studios-your choice of a $15 USD 24/7 Market credit or 500 Bonus Points per stay

I have saved a lot of money by having Globalist benefits, I also have been upgraded to suites (which is a great perk!).

There are often “challenges” like the current corporate challenge that allows you to get globalist status for staying 20 nights instead of 90 within a certain time period. So be on the lookout for those!
